Mk2 Boot lock seal replacement – with photos
This will take longer to type up than it did to do the job.
One that on all Rocco’s will need doing at some point.
One split boot lock seal needing replacing, inner boot mechanism held in only by two screws.WD40 if a little tight 
with this hanging down after sliding it off from between hatch and bracket going to rear brake light detach the little double ended hook.
This will reveal the two ther screws which hold in the barrel mechanism.
Again just unscrew and then with a little thumb force push the barrel down into the hatch.
now remove split rubber and wipe clean around where it had sat.
New rubber with old Part No. 161 827 527 -01C Gasket £1.85 +VAT
Make sure the area is clean then just insert the grommit as before.
Then push the barrel back into place a little tight but that is a good thing
Re-fit the inner two screws and attach the little double ended lever, hook on the locking inner part and screw into place
then admire your work and know that next time you open your boot it won’t get you wet
